On Saturday 8th January, The Octagon Centre was proud to support one of our tenants during the departure of thousands of gift boxes.
For the past year, charitable organisation Teams 4 U, who are tenants within The Octagon have been working tirelessly to collect donations and pack boxes for their annual shoebox appeal. The boxes were then loaded onto a lorry for their 4 day journey across Europe to Romania where they have been distributed to needy children of all ages.
Centre Manager, Richard Chamberlain was asked to load the last box onto the lorry, completing the the 2021 appeal. Clive Lawton, who leads the Burton upon Trent Teams 4 U group was extremely pleased with their achievement and thanked their volunteers for working so hard, as well as the local community in Burton for their generousity.
