What do I need to be able to trade / promote in a Shopping Centre?
You will need to have some form of promotional stand and branding, whether it is a bespoke unit or a banner stand. Retail Merchandising Units (RMU) are available to rent in the centre.
Do I have to pay a deposit??
To secure a Promotional Space or RMU you will not have to pay a deposit although bookings are paid for in advance.
Does the cost I pay have any extra charges involved?
You will not incur any other charges for the use of electricity, water or cleaning at the centre. Payment is required in full two weeks prior to your promotion taking place.
Is Public Liability Insurance (PLI) essential and where can I obtain it?
Every promotion must be covered by insurance. Although very rare, this will cover any accidents that may occur while in the Shopping Centre. The value of cover is usually at a standard £5 million. Some centres do request cover up to £10 million. Most insurance brokers will be able to provide you with a policy.
Is an electricity supply available to use?
All our sites in The Octagon Shopping Centre have an electricity supply. A Portable Appliance Test (PAT) certificate will be needed for items over 12 months old in order to connect to the centre's electricity supply. A receipt for new equipment will also need to be produced.
