Store Goes Silent For Autism Hour at The Octagon Shopping Centre.
The Entertainer within The Octagon Shopping Centre is set to launch a more autism-friendly shopping experience for those on the spectrum. Starting from the 12th February between Monday - Friday, the store will be aiming to create a calmer less daunting enviroment for shoppers with Autsim during the first hour of opening.
Store manager Jo Griffiths commented, "For the next two weeks our store will be turning off the store music and all loud demo toys to provide an experience that is more comfortable and enjoyable for people with autism".
Peter Hardingham, Cushman & Wakefield General Manager of The Octagon commented "This is a fantastic introduction by the store that not only helps raise awareness of autism but also helps to reduce the potential stress for shoppers with this condition. We will be following their example by turning off the centre's music until 10:00am over the same two week period.".
