The Octagon Car Park

Car park prices:

Up to 2 hours £1.00

2 – 3 hours £1.50

3 – 4 hours £2.50

4 – 12 hours £6.00

On Sundays and bank holidays it is £1.00 to park all day. There is no parking charge on Christmas Day and Easter Sunday.

To ensure The Octagon Centre is reducing its carbon footprint, we have adopted a paperless parking system. When you arrive at the car park, a camera will take a photograph of your number plate which records the time you entered. On departure, the pay machines will ask you to enter your registration number and your payment will appear on the screen. The camera on exit will then recognise your car and raise the barrier once the car park fee is paid in full.

Electric Vehicle Charging Points:

The Octagon Shopping Centre is the home of the first electric vehicle (EV) charging points in Burton Town Centre. Two points have been installed and are fully operational.

ELECTRIC vehicle owners will be able to charge their cars in the centre's car park in the allocated bays (located down the side of the shopping centre between Iceland and New Street Taxis), which allow up to four vehicles at a time to be charged. Charging stations are owned and operated by Osprey. Octagon standard carpark tariff arrangements apply throughout.

Sustainability Statement

Environment and Waste Management

In 2015 we achieved net zero waste to landfill through improved segregation and recycling streams. Our waste management plan concentrates on specific areas for improvement to ensure that we continue on track with this continuing  objective. We segregate and recycle the waste collected from our on-mall located rubbish bins.

Energy

We monitor and collate data to ensure that we operate efficiently, identifying trends for analysis and initiatives for further improvement so that we can continue to reduce our energy consumption. We regularly retender to get the best possible long term deal for our supply of gas and electricity.

Water

We realise water is a precious commodity and are keen to reduce consumption and implement rain water harvesting and grey water recycling initiatives at some point in the future. All taps used within the publicly accessible areas are designed not to waste water in normal use.

Community

We routinely engage with our community partners to facilitate space and opportunities for them to increase and capitalise on local exposure. As part of our events programme we include an element of charitable giving whenever possible and appropriate. Each year we hold a Christmas Tree Festival which engages widely with the local community. The Octagon Shopping Centre also supports Burton in Bloom with sponsorship of the floral displays on St Peter's Bridge.

Green Transport

We provide facilities for both visitors and employees designed to encourage alternative environmentally friendly transport choices. There are publicly accessible bike racks by Costa Coffee and Iceland as well as facilities for staff using this means of transport to reach their places of work.

The Octagon Shopping Centre is now the location for the first electric vehicle (EV) charging points in Burton Town Centre. The points of which there are two are installed and fully operational now.
